How Our Chickens are Raised

At Stillwater Natural Farm, we raise our Cornish Cross chickens with a simple goal: produce clean, flavorful meat in a way that respects both the animal and the land. From day two to harvest, every step is handled right here on our farm, giving us full control over quality and care.

Our chickens are raised on fresh pasture using a rotational system inspired by proven pasture poultry practices. They live in mobile shelters that are moved daily to new grass, allowing them constant access to clean ground, fresh forage, sunlight, and open air. This approach keeps the birds healthier while naturally fertilizing and improving the soil beneath them.

We feed a high-quality, certified organic, non-GMO diet to support steady, natural growth. Our chickens are never given antibiotics or growth stimulants—just proper nutrition, fresh water, and a low-stress environment.

Everything happens on our farm—from raising to harvesting.  Our chickens are not transported long distances for processing. This reduces stress on the birds and ensures a level of care and traceability you simply won’t find in large-scale operations.

The result is chicken that’s noticeably different:

  • Richer flavor

  • Better texture

  • Clean, natural quality you can feel good about feeding your family

We believe that how food is raised matters. By focusing on pasture-based methods, animal welfare, and soil health, we’re committed to producing chicken that reflects the care and intention behind it.
